Pardon my French, but…

#@Ä #$%*!!! I suppose you all remember my nasty encounter with the cab driver. Remember this all happened in the first week of September. Now, 6!!!!! months later they have finally rounded up my case and sent it over to the justice department in Den Bosch. I got a letter today from the Victim Support Group (VSG), and it wasn’t a good one. I’ll start with telling the story so far.
During the first two weeks or so, the police was quite helpful. There was a fair bit of emailing going on between my parents and the police and they also contacted me numerous times. What they told me then was about this: “He has confessed to hitting you to the ground, the only thing you did was take off the Mercedes emblem when the car road up to you, but it could just be clicked back in to place so no problems there. The only thing we’re not sure about is if he actually hit you with a maglite or just his bear fists, but don’t worry that issue will only make the difference that he will either have to pay only your costs or he’ll have to do some time and pay you back everything”.
As I didn’t really have that big of a grudge I was quite happy with this. All though I did find the reasons why the police thought he didn’t hit me with a maglite were kind of stupid. But I didn’t care, I just wanted to get the whole thing over and done with. Now after the first few weeks the police fell silent, and up till this moment I still haven’t even heard as much as a whisper from their direction. I’ve had frequent contact with the VSG, and based on what she heard from the police (the same stuff I was told), I had nothing to worry about and I just had to be patient for them to round everything up. I got a special number that I could call to get information about my case, unfortunately it remained empty.
Then I learned via the VSG that the policeman investigating the case had a 3 to 4 week holiday so my case would take a bit longer. After another endless amount of waiting I got fed up and contacted the VSG again to see if they could find out anything. She tried to contact the policeman still!!! investigating the case, but he absolutely refused to contact here. After two weeks trying she even had to call up his supervisor to get him to return the call. Absolutely incredible, don’t you think! When he finally did phone back he spewed out the regular lot of crap, about how much work there was and they didn’t have time this and that and bla bla bla bla.
Okay, and then another endless amount of time later, 6 months after it all happened I get a letter from the VSG that the police finally closed my case and it was of to the justice department, as I mentioned earlier. Why I don’t hear from the police themselves when this happens is a mystery to me. But here comes the great part: they have completely altered the whole damn report. I was totally drunk, I molested the car, and basically the whole thing was my fault. WTF? Do you notice the ’slight’ diference to what they said earlier.
Now I have to get a lawyer, and it’s going to be very difficult for me to get any money at all……
